Beautiful church. Open, fairly liberal, and welcoming but not at all pushy. Nice mixture of ages and races. Beautiful services. Creed recitation takes some getting used to for those who didn't grow up with it or are super liberal theologically (me).

The closest you will get to high Anglican mass in TEC in Portland. Beautiful cathedral, incredible organ.

I must say, I have never entered a church (Catholic, Anglican, Episcopal, Orthodox, etc.), let alone the seat of the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon, where a priest was a "no show" to a Eucharist service! They can't be serious as an organization and business to allow such behavior. I find this to be a disservice to the community and lay folks alike, especially someone who is looking for a new "spiritual home" as I am. Granted, they were still serving coffee and snacks to the homeless in the morning as I exited, which was the only "plus" I witnessed today. This is not the first time this has happened. Actually, in my experience, this is the second Saturday service in three weeks where I had such an experience. Two weeks ago, the same incident occurred and the wonderful church members/volunteers had to come out to the chapel and embarrassingly apologize to those of us waiting in the pews. I know confusion and scheduling issues happen, but something is telling me there is more to this if I visited two weeks ago and the same exact incident occurred. There was also another person in attendance today who expressed similar thoughts to me and had informed me that this has also occurred on Wednesday evening services recently. Again, Holy Trinity, I have enjoyed all my experiences and interactions at your beautiful Cathedral up until this point, but this sort of thing is giving me second doubts about becoming a member of a place I am fondly attracted to for spiritual, intellectual, and aesthetic reasons. Please address these issues sooner rather than later.

How do you rate a church? lol It certainly is one of Portland's poshest and purdiest ones, they feed the neighborhood homeless and poor, and Episcopalians are a cool bunch for Christians. The courtyard foliage is gorgeous when in bloom and dragonflies visit often during summer.
